Project Portal - 04 - Asset Taxonomies
Asset Taxonomies
Taxonomies are the list of assets that the surveyor will see on their device when conducting their survey. Taxonomies are flexible in Asseticom. You are able to add, edit and delete your own taxonomies. This means, for instance, you can create a separate taxonomy for say a Fire Door Survey, as well as full condition survey and store them in your portal for allocation against your chosen survey as and when you need to.
Adding a Taxonomy
From the Dashboard, navigate to the Add Asset Taxonomy Screen by clicking on the Add button within the Asset Taxonomy section in the sidebar. Adding a Taxonomy is done in two-steps:
Step 1 - Download the Asset Taxonomy template and fill in the data
To do this, click the Download Asset Taxonomy Template button. This will automatically download the template to your desktop for population. Please note that the following requirements apply when populating your taxonomy:
- Codes must not contain spaces
- Codes must be unique across the row
- Each Code 3 must be unique within the Code 3 column
- Unit of Measure is required
- Cost Per Unit, Expected Life and Uplift Multiplier although recommended, are not required

Step 2 - Upload your completed Taxonomy
When you are happy with your Taxonomy, you can either drag and drop the file or click the Upload button to upload your completed Taxonomy. If there are any errors with the taxonomy, Asseticom will alert you to this prior to uploading.

Viewing a Taxonomy
From the Dashboard, navigate to the View Asset Taxonomy Screen by clicking on the View button within the Asset Taxonomy section in the sidebar. From here you are able to view the available taxonomies in the Project Portal, as well as their asset count and creation date. You may also delete and download the completed taxonomy to make any amendments and reupload should you choose to do so.
