Missing uploads icon

Why am I seeing a red warning icon?

A warning triangle icon will appear in the View Surveys screen if a survey is completed with missing data. The reasons for missing uploads can be:

  • The surveyor has changed mobile devices mid-survey, and unsynced data is stored on the original device.
  • An in-progress survey has been re-issued from one surveyor to another, with unsynced data still on the original surveyor's mobile device.
  • The surveyor has uninstalled the mobile app with unsynced data on their mobile device. In this case the locally stored data will have been deleted and the missing uploads will not be recoverable.

What are the missing uploads?

Clicking the red warning icon will open a new window with the reason and resolution for missing uploads, and a list of the data that is missing. Each missing asset will have the following information displayed:

  • Description - this shows the floor, room and asset type
  • Created - this shows the data and time the data was collected
  • Location - this shows the surveyor's name and the mobile device that was used to collect that data.

How do I resolve missing uploads?

To retrieve missing uploads, the

  1. Look at the 'Location' section of the missing uploads, this is where the data is locally saved.
  2. Reissue the survey to the surveyor indicated in the 'Location section'.
  3. The surveyor will need to open the survey on the mobile device indicated in the 'Location' section, and tap Save & Complete.

Note: in some cases, where data has been deleted (e.g. cache cleared or app uninstalled) the data will not be recoverable.

How to avoid missing uploads

If switching between devices or reissuing surveys to other surveyors, ensure the survey is fully synced first.

To sync a survey you must be connected to the internet, and the green 'Synced to cloud' should be visible on the survey title screen.

Troubleshooting

  • If multiple devices have been used for a survey, the steps above may need to be repeated with each of the relevant devices.
  • If multiple surveyors have been issued the survey, the steps above may need to be repeated with each surveyor.
  • In some cases, where data has been deleted (e.g. cache cleared or app uninstalled) the data will not be recoverable. This will be indicated in the Missing Uploads window.
