Mobile App - 08 - Rapid Mode, Taking Photos and Adding Images from Device

Rapid mode

Rapid mode offers the ability to quickly generate high level structured data and images, so that further details can be added later on. This approach lends itself to surveys where time is limited and assets need to be captured rapidly.

  1. Navigate to the relevant room.

  1. Tap Capture Asset, when the camera appears, tap the Rapid Mode at the bottom of the screen.

  1. Select the asset type (using the hierarchy, search, or recently used).

  1. The camera will then be activated to capture the next asset.

Note: Additional asset information can be added to each of the assets by returning to the room screen and selecting the asset.

Note: To deactivate Rapid Mode, simply tap Rapid Mode again on the camera screen.

Taking Photos

Photos can be taken for assets and rooms, providing additional detail and context not captured in the asset information alone. A maximum of 5 photos can be taken for each room and asset.

  1. Hold the device steady so that the image does not blur. You can check the image by tapping the image icon. There is the option to Delete, Replace or Add.

  1. If your device has a flash it will activate according to the setting (on, auto, off). This can be adjusted by tapping the flash settings on the camera screen. Note: iPads often don’t have a flash.

  1. The device camera should auto focus, but sometimes it doesn’t focus on the area required. To manually focus, tap the screen in the relevant place.

  1. To add an image from the device gallery, select the photo icon at the top right of the camera screen. Note: Images stored on iCloud or similar (i.e. not on the device) will not be saved.

Adding images from the device

  1. When adding an image to a room or asset, a photo icon will be visible in the camera screen.

  1. Tap the icon, select the image from the device photo gallery.

Note: Images stored on iCloud or similar (i.e. not on the device) will not be saved.
